Me on harvest day in 2008
I grew up actively working on landscaping and gardening around my parents property as long as I can remember. At the age of 5 my parents gave me my own tomato plants to grow and maintain over the summer and I fell in love with the process. This snowballed over the years to include more plants and livestock. Optimizing irrigation, timing of planting, using cover crops, fertilizing, and integrating the livestock and produce together became interests and hobbies of mine.
In addition to my personal interests I also have several years of professional landscaping and construction experience, working both for contractors and independently. Between learning from local contractors, farmers, ranchers, professors, and engineers, I have been able to learn how to formulate and execute plans properly to achieve a desired landscaping goal.
After moving to San Luis Obispo for school I experienced no longer having land to take care of for the first time in my life, and realized how important that was to me. I worked freshman and sophomore year for a local landscape contractor and picking up side-work on local farms and ranches. After taking up an internship related to my major I realized working land was a passion of mine I needed to incorporate into my life. I decided to start picking up gig-work with some of my fellow Cal Poly students until I had enough customers wanting repeat work and started my first maintenance route. I still am a student at Cal Poly and collaborate with other students and professors on projects to give clients high quality work at an affordable cost.
